Braun SoundBar
I was tasked with creating a product line extension from a product of my choice. I decided to analyze the Braun Series 9 Sport. I identified key aspects in the design language of the product and used those concepts to create a product of my own. I decided to create a waterproof portable speaker since music is something I associated with shaving, and I thought it would be fun to create a portable speaker with an organic form.
Process
Creating low-fidelity models helped me figure out the specifics of the form of the speaker which I used to create my final model. I began by modeling my PU foam using a variety of machines such as the band saw, radial sander, mill, router, and more. Once I had my desired shape I applied multiple layers of Bondo, then primer, and finally paint. Overall I am happy with my end result, but I learned a lot about how I could have improved the fabrication, as well as my process as a whole.
